Spinach or sparrows

...Ummmmm-I have a dilema. I love Sparrows in my garden, darting in and out of the hedge-chasing each other and being a bit cheeky. Sadly I've just realised what's nibbling my spinach, peas and courgettes. I thought it was slugs at first but there are no slug trails. The new leaves are sliced rather than have holes in them. So I've strung up a really ugly bit of netting to give my lovely plants a fighting chance to survive. The problem for me is that I like my veg patch to look good as well as to taste good. Oh well maybe when the plants get bigger they'll leave them alone-here's hoping!
